The War Children of WAR: Say no to inheriting conflicts and turn away from making new ones
"The children of war' is history. We are now 'the children of peace! No more words of reproach are uttered, 'winning' or 'losing' being no longer in our collective vocabulary. We have made a pledge not to make new conflicts. It is a pledge, not a slogan.
The
Children of WAR
For decades in post-independent Indonesia, various conflicts caused by opposing ideologies have left deep wounds in the hearts of individuals whose parents and grandparents were involved in them.
A sense of humiliation, vengefulness, hatred, and fear, festered in the hearts and the minds of these individuals. Many experienced psychological trauma. Questions like, 'Who is the murderer of my father?' or 'Were my parents really the masterminds of those murders?' keep reverberating in their minds.
Through incredible persistence and determination the sons and daughters of the victims of conflicts finally agreed to found the Forum Silaturahmi Anak Bangsa (The Forum of Fellowship for the Nation's Sons and Daughters). They then sat at the same table and discussed peace. This book tells the stories recounted by these sons and daughters of the prominent figures who were once trapped in the centrifugal force of the nation's bloody history.
